I hold both British and Australia citizenship .
I am someone who has always enjoyed teaching. As a chef I loved teaching apprentices and I also enjoyed teaching cooking and hospitality management to classes of 18 to 22 students. I have many Chinese friends in Melbourne that I have helped with their studies. I found that I really enjoyed teaching and discussing language with them. So in 2010 I studied and completed a certificate IV TESOL. I have taught at both Holmesglen College in Chadstone and Carrick College in Melbourne Australia since completing the TESOL course and love being in the classroom. I also sing and play guitar and if appropriate I'm happy to incorporate that into lessons.
I love playing sport, triathlons, cycling, badminton and soccer are some of the spots that I play. I have been running my own business for the last ten years which I sold recently. And I have also had a Celtic band for the last 15 years which I manage, sing and play guitar in.

| Teaching method & materials |
I have always used a course book when teaching.
I like to have time to prepare for my classes. I think it's very important to have clear aims for your class and know what you students need to get out of your teaching. I usually like to start with a warmer to get students chatting and using the language, something fun and simple but related to the aims and topic of that class. In the past I have always spent time making up activities and props for my classes. I've used video, audio, snap cards, question sheets and other games and activities to get students using language, some times pairs, small groups or whole class activities. I think it is good to cover different aspects of language in classes, like pronunciation, reading, writing, speaking, grammar or listening, but not all in the one class. I believe it's important to keep the students engaged and participating in the classroom.
